Field Gulls 'Hawks Coaching Staff Shaping Up

I'm more interested in the Seahawks future than the playoffs today.

Purely conjecture and rumor but we have to accept that the Carroll part is 98% a done deal now, ....99%....:

New Coaching Staff:

HC- Pete Carroll (HC- USC, / former HC-NE & NYJ, DB Coach BUF, MIN, DC NYJ / Considered Defensive Mastermind and excellent college recruiter, gets credit for talent evaluation but come on, its USC)

OC: Jeremy Bates (ASS. HC & QB Coach incl play calling- USC, / Former QB Coach- DEN, NYJ, considered one of the top QB developers, incl J Cutler / son of long time NFL coach Jim Bates)

DC: DeWayne Walker (HC- NMS, / Former DC- UCLA, DB coach USC, NE, WAS, NYG / runs a 3-4 defense)

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on these guys, specifically Bates and Walker? This whole situation seems a little too "hey we're great in college, lets try out hand in the pros this year." They have NFL experience, just not in the actual jobs they would be doing. I'm usually all for up and comers as opposed to flunky retreads, but I also think you need a balance and it seems to be lacking here. The NFL is very unforgiving to noobs and we can no longer hold onto the delusion that the Hawks are good just unlucky. I see this as a potential disaster. I'm off to do some more research.
