I'm a native Oilers fan, but I recently decided to start following the Islanders in addition. The rivalry with the Oilers in the early 80s, the fact that they keep acquiring former Oilers (they're welcome to keep Schremp), and the excitement of Tavares and the other young guns are all contributing factors. The real reason for becoming an Isles fan, though, is because they drafted me 3 times in a row in NHL 10. Ridiculous reasons, but it gives me a reason to care about the Eastern Conference.
