Matt Hedges might not have the strongest case to win MLS's Rookie of the Year, but is sure to draw some attention with this video featuring George John doing a solid rendition of Gangnam Style.
The MLS Rookie of the Year race seems to be between two players right now: Darren Mattocks of the Vancouver Whitecaps and Austin Berry of the Chicago Fire. FC Dallas defender Matt Hedges is probably somewhere in the group of players right behind them. In an attempt to change that paradigm, FC Dallas is mounting a campaign for Hedges that will apparently include lots of puns on his last name, such as the accompanied hashtag #hedgeyourbet.
One of the first installments is this video, which features George John doing a pretty solid rendition of Gangnam Style while hanging out at "Hedgequarters." How is this relevant to Hedges' campaign? Well, it clearly isn't, which is totally fine. As long as FC Dallas is OK with merely entertaining us -- and this is definitely entertaining -- we would like to fully support their efforts.
