Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks had a harrowing adventure this morning in an elevator
Darren Mattocks, the talented young Vancouver Whitecaps forward, apparently got stuck in an elevator this morning. We know this because he used Twitter to inform the official team account of his predicament.
@whitecapsfc I'm stuck inside the elevator

As an extremely claustrophobic person, there are few things more frightening that the idea of being trapped in an elevator. I prefer stairs, but I'm forced to use one at least once a day at work and I live in perpetual fear that something is going to happen. The building I work in is currently renovating their elevators so the added horror of loud banging and drilling sounds doesn't help my neurosis.
If you're curious, I think the only thing more frightening that getting stuck in an elevator is being buried alive. Remember that scene in 'Kill Bill 2'? I almost lost it. Forget that movie 'Buried', I couldn't even get through the damn trailer.
Alright, alright, enough about my problems.
Darren Mattocks tweeted a few minutes later to tell the world he had escaped the elevator.
Yep 20 minutes later I'm out

This is great news and now we won't have to start a #FreeDarren campaign on Twitter.
Let this be a lesson to everyone, elevators are evil. Take the stairs, it's good exercise and there's also going to be at least one unlocked door from which you can get out of the stairwell.
