Brandon Marshall Is a Troubled 'Uman Man'

↵
↵Brandon Marshall was arrested at 5:50 a.m. in Atlanta Sunday morning on a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a fight in "a bar." I live in Atlanta, and let me tell you, the "bar" in question matters. Did B-Marsh get nabbed for a scuffle between distinguished gentlemen at Stroker's? Was he defending the honor of a young lady at Club Esso on Memorial? Was he engaged in a hoedown throwdown at the Dixie Tavern? ↵

↵With so many places in the 404 to get punched in the face, or punch someone else, it's worth asking precisely what brand of trouble Marshall tasted Saturday night. We have multiple flavors here for the discerning NFL rapscallion looking to torpedo his career in a single night. ↵

↵

↵All we know at the moment, thanks to an Atlanta City Jail supervisor, was that it was "a bar," that the charge was disorderly conduct, and that Marshall paid $300 bail and was on his disorderly way. It is also a certainty that the $300 bail will be the least expensive part of Marshall's fight-related expenses. According to the Denver Post and anyone else with an iota of understanding of the NFL's disciplinary policy, Marshall will face a suspension of some serious length this season. This depends on the whims of The Ginger Czar himself, Roger Goodell, who showed mercy to Marshall in 2008 in reducing a suspension for another incident. (Confused? Consult the Post's 12 point "History of Brandon Marshall Violating Civil and Criminal Codes Across The Country" as a handy legal reference. It's almost Pac-Man-tastic in its depth and stupidity, though minus the strip clubs and paralyzed bouncers.) ↵

↵

↵Now that Goodell wields godlike disciplinary powers, he could suspend Marshall for eight games, a full season, the rest of his natural life, force him into hard labor in the Canadian Rockies ... I'm pretty sure everything shy of deportation is on the table, because Roger Goodell works under NFL law, a series of codes that trumps the power of even Supreme Court in our nation. Marshall should cconsider picking up a few hobbies easily practiced during daylight hours, as he's going to have some free time. Rosey Grier recommends knitting. ↵

↵

↵As always, the most perceptive comment on the situation comes from Denver Broncos message boards, which remind us that life is about talkers and "dooers." ↵

↵
↵⇥Berfore Everyone Disses B-marsh .. Think About Your Life?? How Much Do Yo Back Up What You Say Are You A Talker Or A Dooer?? I Think Half Of You Are Talkers But Could Never Admit It. I Look At B-marsh Liek Ah Uman Man Thats What He Is ↵
↵

↵Ya, h8rz. U Shoulld Look at Him and his LIfe Liek a Man. Some of us just talk about getting in barfights and jeopardizing our multimillion dollar careers; men like Brandon Marshall go out and do it. Think about that, h8r. ↵

↵

↵UPDATE: The charges have reportedly been dropped. Common tort law does not apply to Overlord Goodell, however, so all aforementioned punishments are still in play. ↵
