↵Kentucky’s offer to John Calipari is reportedly on the table, and it includes more than $5 million per year, which would double his base salary at Memphis. Calipari said last night that he wanted to sleep on it. Apparently the answer didn’t come to him in the middle of the night because he spent his morning visiting friends at his favorite donut shop and talking things over. ↵
↵According to someone sitting near Calipari and company in the donut shop, here’s what went down (as if you should be shocked it’s come to this after the local media staked out an inanimate object for the better part of Monday): ↵
↵↵⇥Calipari told friends at a Memphis donut shop this morning he would make his decision about the Kentucky job "this afternoon." [...] ↵⇥↵Calipari is now reportedly driving around Memphis, trying to find the answer. It’s only a matter of time before helicopters start following his car around the city, waiting for a response. The solution is simple, though: ASK THE DOOR WHAT THE ANSWER IS.↵↵⇥Calipari stayed for exactly eight minutes. In that span, he said: ↵⇥
↵⇥↵⇥-- In addition to Kentucky, Arizona came after him over the weekend offering not a salary but a blank check. Calipari said, "No thanks." ↵⇥
↵⇥↵⇥-- He loves Memphis but is drawn to the history and prestige of Kentucky. Calipari said it's one of five programs -- along with North Carolina, Duke, UCLA and Kansas -- any coach would have to consider. ↵⇥
