Charles Woodson Lives To Be Defensive Player Of Another Year

A multi-million dollar home in Bay Harbor, Mich. belonging to family that had just made a $15 million donation to a local women's hospital was destroyed in a fire on Saturday following a party made to celebrate that donation and the hospital's renaming in their honor. A tragic turn of events and one of interest to the sports public because Packers corner Charles Woodson was one of the 14 people left in the home when the fire broke out.

Woodson, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, is also among the largess club, having given $2 million to the University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital and Women's Hospital last year.

Public safety officials believe the fire originated in attic. The first responders arrived around 4:50 a.m. though the fire kept going until 7:30 a.m. because of difficulties that the fire department had with trucks trying to negotiate a narrow driveway to the luxury home.
