Jhonny Peralta Can Fly, So Long As An Outfielder Falls Through The Wall

↵

Jhonny Peralta is one of those guys who could only complete an inside-the-park home run if the ball happens to get booted a half dozen times or the ball gets lost in the back of an outfielder's pants, forcing them to circle frantically like a dog chasing its tail. Another remote possibility would be if an outfielder crashed through the bullpen wall in the outfield attempting to make a catch.

And whaddaya know? The last one went down today, resulting in Peralta just barely beating an off-target throw to the plate. His 16.74 second trek around the basepaths was slower than five traditional home run trots made this year. Peralta can plain motor, is what I'm trying to say here.

We've got the clip with perhaps the worst possibly quality audio possible, with what sounds like a woman arguing loudly on the phone in the background. Though her plea to "take control of the situation" coinciding with Peralta's slide into home makes me believe that could be the horrible tagline on a sporting good's marketing campaign. That said, if a clip with more game-appropriate narration is to your liking, you can turn here.
