After several weeks and even months of little to no talk about free agent WR Terrell Owens, he has dominated the headlines. News reports cropped up this weekend that the Rams were in "serious pursuit" of Owens before they ultimately determined that they weren't interested.
Now it's the Bengals who are putting T.O. in the headlines by reportedly offering him a contract.
The Bengals have extended an offer to Owens, which is now the only one on the table after the Rams decided to back out. Owens and agent Drew Rosenhaus like the Bengals situation and both sides are still negotiating. The team is hoping that a decision is made in the next 48 hours.
The 48-hour deadline makes sense because the Bengals will conduct their first training camp practice Thursday morning.
