Finally, some less-than-bleak news in the Jamel Turner case: The Ohio State signee, hospitalized for close to three weeks after being shot multiple times on June 19, was released today and is expected to make a complete recovery. His on-field future with the Buckeyes is still in question:
Coach Jim Tressel has said Turner still needs to finish up high school, so that would be the first step. Any chance of playing college football would be in 2011 at the earliest.
Football may have to wait, but Turner is alive, and lucky to be so. Our continued best wishes for his swift recovery.
