David Beckham returned to training for the Los Angeles Galaxy today, just short of four months after having his torn left Achilles tendon surgically repaired.
Beckham suffered the injury in March while on loan to Milan in Italy, leaving him out of this summer's World Cup and the first half of Los Angeles's season. He has not played for the Galaxy since last November's MLS Cup final, scoring in the penalty shootout Los Angeles eventually lost to Real Salt Lake.
While still at least one month away from seeing game action, Beckham trained today with teammates on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson.
What was thought a season-ending injury, the original prognosis for Beckham's recovery time was six to eight months. If his recovery continues, Beckham will return in time for the MLS playoffs.
