Mike Leach’s resume remains a colorful one: winningest coach ever by percentage at Texas Tech, law degree holder, famed pirate aficionado, rollerblader, weatherman, pest control technician, and dating coach.
↵You may now add “college football commentator” to that list, since CBS College Sports will have Leach working as an analyst this fall.
↵It should sound something like this.
↵↵↵Well, that’s a first down, there. Interesting that they went with the skinny post. First there’s nothing skinny about it, since the term is inaccurate. Should call it a narrow post there. Second, they’re mimicking the counterintuitive opening gambits of an Erwin Rommel desert campaign here, going mid-range to deep pass when you expect power run. Third, and this is a little known fact, but it’s possible to poach an egg at temperatures far lower than one might think provided you do it for a very long time, like say three or four hours or so. It’s a big thing in molecular gastronomy, but don’t get me started on the Spanish. I like ham as much as the next man, but you gotta give the pig a rest sometime. Oh, and they’ll probably throw that skinny post again just to see if they’ll defend it this time. (Offense throws skinny post again.)

We’re so very much looking forward to Mike Leach stretching our definition of what is possible in commentating tangents this fall.
