SportsNet.ca with word of a very interesting fight:
Numerous sources have confirmed that welterweight prospect Rory "The Waterboy" MacDonald is likely going to square off against rugged veteran Matt "The Immortal" Brown (11-9) at UFC 123, tentatively scheduled for November 20th.
MacDonald, who hails from Kelowna, British Columbia, suffered the first defeat of his young career, when with seven seconds left in his UFC 115 bout vs Carlos Condit, the referee stepped in to halt the action.
MacDonald proved that he is more than capable of hanging at the UFC level against Condit but was eventually worn down by the veteran and couldn't hold out to the final bell. Brown represents a similar "tough" style but without quite the high level skills that Condit has.
Brown is among the most talented men in the sport with a .550 win percentage and a win over MacDonald would really prove that he should remain on the UFC roster.
SB Nation will have more updates on the UFC 123 card as it comes together.
