A-Rod Leaves Game Against Mariners After Re-Aggravating Calf Injury

Alex Rodriguez returned to the Yankees’ lineup for the first time after missing three games due to a strained left calf. He was penciled in as the DH but only made it to one at-bat before he pulled again in New York’s 6-0 loss to Seattle.

In the bottom of the second inning, Rodriguez led off with a ground ball to third base, where he was thrown out easily by Seattle third baseman Jose Lopez. Rodriguez gingerly jogged down the line, but didn’t appear to be in any sort of pain running or walking back to the dugout.

However when he spot in the lineup came up once again in the bottom of the fourth, Austin Kearns came out to take his place.

After the game, Rodriguez said he felt the calf twinge during the swing and that he’s “not sure” if he’s going to have to go on the DL.
