Indians placed DH Travis Hafner on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 29, with a sore right shoulder.
Hafner hasn't played since July 28th on account of the soreness, which is just the latest issue he's had with a shoulder that's already sent him to the disabled list on multiple occasions during his career. Through July 28th, he'd been hitting .267/.368/.430, with nine home runs. It's been a long fall for Hafner since his 1.097 OPS 2006, and given all the problems he's had just swinging a bat, it seems unlikely that he'll ever be able to get back to being anything close to what he once was.
