United States Vs. Brazil: Jozy Altidore And Omar Gonzalez In, Jermaine Jones And Chad Marshall Out

Villareal striker Jozy Altidore and Los Angeles Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez have been added to the United States' roster for next week's friendly against Brazil, it was announced today.  The duo will replace midfielder Jermaine Jones and defender Chad Marshall, players originally named to the initial 18-man squad.

Jones, who was in line to make his first appearance for the U.S. since switching his affiliation from Germany, will stay with Schalke 04, the club team for whom he missed last season with a shin injury.  Schalke opens their Bundesliga season against Hamburg on August 21.

Marshall will miss next Tuesday's match with a knee injury.

In his place, Bob Bradley has recalled Omar Gonzalez, the 21-year-old reigning Major League Soccer Rookie of the Year who is now in line to get his first cap.

Altidore, who was with the United States at the World Cup in South Africa, has 29 caps, having scored nine goals.
