The 2011 NFL draft is only a day away at this point and we're still trying to figure out where each player will land. Usually the top few picks of the NFL draft are the easiest to figure out but this year there seems to be less clarity than usual because we don't even know for sure who the Carolina Panthers will take with the first pick.
ESPN's Adam Schefter went on on Mike and Mike this week and says he thinks the draft's top three players are already set -- we just don't know the order.
First, he predicts QB Cam Newton will be the Panthers first pick. That's not much of a surprise as most have been predicting this move. But he says if they don't go with Newton then DT Marcell Dareus is a major player for the top pick.
Second, he predicts LB Von Miller will go to the Denver Broncos with the second pick. If the Panthers go with Newton, I think the Broncos also have to seriously consider Dareus.
Third, he predicts the Buffalo Bills will select Newton or Dareus -- whoever is available.
I'd agree with this list for the most part. These three appear to be the most likely to be selected in the top three with the order not yet decided.
