Rehabbing Nationals phenom Stephen Strasburg attended San Diego State, and was interviewed during halftime of an SDSU men’s basketball game Wednesday night. Said Strasburg in response to one of the questions:

Dave Cameron took a look at the best-shapers over at Fangraphs just a few days ago and couldn’t find any evidence that they perform better the next season, implying that it's an empty statement. While Cameron’s study wasn’t exhaustive, it’s now clear that the expression has been cheapened to such a degree that it’s being repeated by a pitcher who is still 3-4 weeks away from being able to throw a baseball.
