Just before Friday night's match-up between the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons, the Heat made the decision to keep guard Dwyane Wade on the bench. Wade is currently nursing a wrist injury. From the Sun-Sentinal:
Wade injured the wrist during the second half of Thursday night's 93-88 road loss to the New York Knicks, but said he was not certain when he specifically was injured. He met Friday with team physicians who recommended he bypass Friday's game. He is listed as day-to-day for Sunday's road game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Wade delivered a terrific performance during the Heat's loss to the Knicks, scoring 34 points with 16 rebounds and five assists. Miami's Big Three have experienced their fair share of injuries recently -- while LeBron James is in action on Friday night, Chris Bosh's ankle injury is expected to keep him out for at least another week.
Without Dwyane Wade, LeBron James will have to find a way to top the 17-29 Pistons without either of his co-stars. After a stretch in which they won 21 of 22 games, the Heat have suddenly dropped four of their last five.
