Former Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels is meeting with the Minnesota Vikings, according to a report by ESPN's Ed Werder. It's not clear which position he's supposed to be interviewing for, or if that's all up in the air, but as Werder notes it's hard to imagine a deposed head coach accepting a job as a position coach and not a coordinator job.
McDaniels was fired by the Broncos after seeing Denver off to a 3-9 start and overseeing a growing quarterback mini-controversy. Nothing controversial about Minnesota's QB situation, so long as Brett Favre actually retires and so does the other guy who's not Joe Webb and the team signs somebody who's very clearly a better option that Joe Webb. No sweat!
He was reportedly not interested in the available San Francisco 49ers head coaching job. Before taking over the Broncos, McDaniels worked as Bill Belichick's offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots.
