After qualifying for the 19th spot in the 2011 Indy 500, Bruno Junqueira will sit out the race after his spot was bought for Ryan Hunter-Reay. Andretti Autosport bought the spot from A.J. Foyt for Hunter-Reay, who will now drive Junqueira's No. 41 car and move to the back of the pack.
Hunter-Reay was bumped from the original qualifying results when teammate Marco Andretti bested Hunter-Reay's 223.690 with a four-lap average of 224.628 mph. But for the fourth year in a row Hunter-Reay will compete in the Indy 500.
This is the second time in three years Junqueira has qualified for the race, but not participated. In 2009, Junqueira gave his place to teammate Alex Tagliani, who is the 2011 polesitter.
