2011 NCAA Wrestling Champion Bubba Jenkins Joins American Top Team

According to a press release from representatives at American Top Team (ATT) in Coconut Creek, Florida, Arizona State University graduate and 2011 NCAA wrestling national champion Bubba Jenkins is now part of ATT. Bubba won the Division I national title at 157lbs beating Penn State University's David Taylor, pinning him in the first period. The release from ATT is as follows:

Division 1 NCAA wrestling champion Bubba Jenkins, has officially joined American Top Team's professional fight team.

Bubba capped off a tremendous senior year at ASU to capture the 157lbs title in 2011.

Bubba is now fully committed with his MMA career and will move down to American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, where he will join a host of other MMA stars to work with such as: Mike Brown, Cole Miller, Jorge Masvidal, Thiago "Pitbull" Alves, Hector Lombard, and Gleison Tibau among others.

This is the first wave in American Top Team's bid to bring high level wrestlers into the mix. We are very pleased Bubba has decided to call ATT and South Florida home. We think his overall mat experience, mental toughness, and athleticism
will be key assets going forward in his MMA career.

Welcome to the ATT family Bubba!

I spoke to Jenkins in April after his win on MMA Nation on 106.7 The Fan. He told me then he was certain of his plans to get into MMA, although at the time he did not know which camp he planned to join. On Twitter on May 8th, Jenkins suggested he had decided on ATT.
