ROUND 1 - Lawler opens southpaw while Kennedy opens orothdox. Hard inside leg kick from Kennedy. Kennedy faking shots, but not attempts for takedowns so far. Right hook from Lawler hits, but not fully. Lawler eats an inadvertent groin kick, but the fight restarts quickly. Kennedy dives for a takedown, but it goes nowhere. And another. Kennedy and Lawler in a scramble as Kennedy tries to obtain dominant position nearly taking his back and he does. Now Lawler escapes and the two stand again. Kennedy gets the takedown now and works from side control. Kennedy moves to mount, but Lawler escapes and Kennedy can't flair out in time. Both fighters stand.

ROUND 2 - Kennedy shoots from the outside tries to clear the head and can't. Inside leg kick now from Kennedy. Lawler not doing much in the way of offense. Kennedy eats an uppercut but after a tenacious scramble through a modified ankle pick, Kennedy gets the takedown. Kennedy now in half guard. Lawler able to work back to full gaurd, but Kennedy raining punches on top.

ROUND 3 - Lawler doing the stalking as the round begins. Lawler inching in on Kennedy's space and picking his shots. Flying knee for Lawler misses widely. Left hook from Lawler lands. Hard inside leg kick from Kennedy. The fans begin to boo with lack of action. Lawler lands a hard uppercut. Kennedy with an apathetic middle kick. Kennedy lands a final takedown as the round ends, landing elbows and working from half guard.
