The penultimate First Four game in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament is underway on Wednesday night. Two more teams are competing for the final No. 16 seeds in the prestigious national tournament. In the first of two Wednesday night elimination games, the Lamar Cardinals are taking on the Vermont Catamounts. Through the first half, the game is a bit lopsided. Vermont leads 30-21, heading into halftime.
Lamar took an early lead, but that vanished quickly as the Catamounts began sinking buckets in bunches. Vermont guard Four McGlynn is leading all scorers through the first half with 10 points.
The winner of this game will enter the NCAA Tournament's Round of 64, where they will face off against No. 1 seed the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Midwest region.
