The Seattle Seahawks could lose running back Marshawn Lynch this season since he is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent. However, the team could always use the franchise tag on him to retain him initially for one year. The team would then likely work on signing Lynch to a long-term deal should they want to do one. Lynch joined Seattle during the 2010 season. He rushed for 1,204 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first full season with Seattle.
The Seahawks will also see quarterback Charlie Whitehurst depart through free agency. Tarvaris Jackson is still the starter for the team, but the team will look for a better backup since Whitehurst was largely ineffective when he did play.
