Dolphins Free Agency: Focusing On Peyton Manning, Not Matt Flynn

The Miami Dolphins are widely expected to add a quarterback this offseason, whether that's Peyton Manning, Matt Flynn or someone in the 2012 NFL draft. For now, the focus is on Manning and not Flynn, according to a report from Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports.

As for the Dolphins, the team has yet to express remote interest in free-agent quarterback Matt Flynn so far, even though Flynn just finished playing for new Miami head coach Joe Philbin. A team source said that's because Ross has told general manager Jeff Ireland to put the full-court press on Manning.

Flynn isn't technically a free agent until March 13 but teams usually put out feelers ahead of time. Apparently that isn't happening with him. The Dolphins are widely viewed as one of the teams in the Manning pursuit, and Manning is obviously a better player than Flynn, so that makes sense.

Manning is in Miami but not to sign with the Dolphins. That's where he owns a home. The Dolphins are more than likely one of the dozen teams that have reportedly inquired about Manning.
