The New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-0 on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots did not rest starters with a playoff spot wrapped up because it was still possible for them to improve their seeding with a victory. The Patriots secured up the No. 2 seed in the AFC with the win but were denied home-field advantage throughout the playoffs due to the Broncos' victory over the Chiefs.
The Patriots dominated this game from start to finish. New England stacked up 443 total yards to Miami's 256 yards in their first shutout since 2009. The Patriots scored touchdowns in the first, second and fourth quarters. Wes Welker and Rob Gronkowski each caught one touchdown from Tom Brady and Stevan Ridley rushed for two scores.
Fantasy Studs/Duds
Tom Brady was 26-of-32 passing for 284 yards and two touchdowns. Ridley had 20 carries for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Welker had 94 yards receiving and a touchdown on eight catches. Nobody on the Dolphins had much going on Sunday. Reggie Bush had just 49 total yards on 10 touches in the game. Ryan Tannehill was 20-of-35 for 235 yards and an interception.

New England was an 11-point favorite when lines opened and the Patriots had no problems covering the spread. The over for the game was set at 49.5 points and was not met.
