After 2 Outings, Twins' Capps Back On DL

A lot of things haven't gone well for the Minnesota Twins this season. That's why they entered Tuesday night with the worst record in the American League.

One of the things that hasn't gone well for the Twins is Matt Capps.

Capps is earning just $4.5 million this season, which isn't a great deal of money in 2012. And Capps pitched reasonably well in the first months of the season, leaving open the possibility, at the very least, that the Twins might be able to flip him before the trade deadline for a middling prospect.

But in late June, Capps went on the Disabled List with a shoulder injury. He did return to the Twins' bullpen last Saturday, and pitched a clean inning. Good job! Then he pitched again Monday, and gave up a couple of runs against the Orioles.

Uh-oh. Here's the latest news, from MLB.com's man on the spot:

Capps won't be eligible to come off the Disabled List until the 1st of August ... one day after the non-waiver trade deadline.

Just another thing that hasn't gone well for the Minnesota Twins this season.
