Rory McIlroy is currently leading the 2012 PGA Championship during Saturday's third round. That's impressive when you realize that McIlroy has been struggling a great deal all year and played a 2-over round on Friday. It's even more impressive when you realize that early on Saturday, McIlroy forgot the oldest rule in golf: "Don't hit your golf ball into a tree."
On McIlroy's third hole on Saturday, he made a tee shot that was perfect -- if he was trying to get it stuck in a tree. Because that's what happened. He hit a ball right into a tree. It takes a pro, people.
The craziest thing about this? McIlroy hit the ball out of the branches and made par on that hole. Seriously.
McIlroy is currently at 7-under through eight holes and has a two-stroke lead over Vijay Singh and Adam Scott.
