Anthony Davis injury: Hornets rookie suffers sprained ankle vs. Kings

Anthony Davis has not had very good luck this season. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Hornets' star rookie faced some more bad injury luck against the Kings.

When Anthony Davis has been able to stay on the court, he's had a fantastic rookie season. Unfortunately, the New Orleans Hornets' stud rookie has been unable to dodge the injury bug for much of the season. On Monday, Davis suffered a sprained left ankle and sat out the entire second half in a 114-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings, according to the AP.

This is not a new injury for Davis. The number one overall draft pick was already forced to miss 11 games this year due to a stress fracture in the same ankle. Prior to exiting the game, Davis racked up 11 points and six rebounds in the first half.

Before the season began, Davis was considered the overwhelming favorite to win Rookie of the Year. When he's been on the court, he's arguably been the best rookie in the league. His inability to stay healthy, however, has made Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers the new favorite for Rookie of the Year.
