I'll preface this by saying I hate myself for having to write this now.
There is a rumor about Les Miles and an affair, and it's all very stupid. We're going to use this as a teachable moment, and not RUMOR AS FACT. There is no fact here. This is what happens in the college football offseason.
So, let's begin. The rumor:
There are rumors that LSU head football coach Les Miles will step down on Monday after allegedly having an affair with a student. Hmm...

That's a student reporter from ... Western Kentucky? And let's dig in.
Again, Les Miles' alleged affair and resignation is a complete rumor. It hasn't been confirmed yet. Nobody will know the truth until Monday.

.@blogawful Someone told me to check it out on twitter and some recruiting boards. It's a complete rumor. It's just something to speculate.
— Sam McGaw (@sammcgaw) March 3, 2013
By all accounts, it's not true. So please stop this. This is how the college football offseason spirals out of control. A rumor starts on a message board, spreads to Twitter, and then goes from there.
And if we want to go back further, what up Alabama boards.
Finally, I trust this man:
Was having a nice dinner w wife & kids and people buzzing me about Les. Spoke w source close…He tells me there's nothing to this stuff.

For the love of everything, please settle in for the next six months. It's a long offseason and these rumors are foolish. Thank you.
