The top two seeds in the Patriot League Men's Basketball tournament held serve in the semifinals, setting up a matchup between the No. 1 Bucknell Bison and the No. 2 Lafayette Leopards in the tournament championship game.
Lafayette won the first semifinal matchup, defeating the No. 3 Lehigh Hawks, 82-69. Lehigh kept the game close until the 16:36 mark in the second half. The Leopards then went on a 13-2 run, and kept the Hawks at arm's length for the rest of the game. Guard Tony Johnson led the Leopards with 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Bucknell took the second game of the day, winning by a final score of 78-70 over the No. 4 Army Black Knights. The Bison played tough defense, holding the Black Knights to 38 percent shooting from the floor, while taking advantage of the charity stripe by sinking 24 of their 28 free throw attempts. Center Mike Muscala led Bucknell with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Cameron Ayers added 19 points.
Buckenll and Lafayette will meet on Wednesday, March 13 at Sojka Pavilion. The game will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on CBS Sports Network.
