Orb entered the race as the betting -- and sentimental -- favorite. With official odds even Saturday, and unofficial odds better than even, Orb was a heavy favorite over Itsmyluckyday, Departing and Take Charge. Oxbow was actually a longshot at15/1 to win.
The 145th running of the Belmont Stakes will be held June 8 in Belmont, N.Y. The last Triple Crown winner came in 1978, when Affirmed beat out Alydar by a narrow margin in all three races.
