Here's that ugly Michael Kidd-Gilchrist crash to the hardwood. Ouch. Listen close. https://t.co/HDwNbJLb8p— NBA Courtside (@NBACourtside_) November 3, 2014
Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a rib contusion after falling hard on his right shoulder fighting for a rebound against Shane Larkin during the first quarter of his team's game against the Knicks, the team announced.
Injury Update: Tests at hospital reveal a rib contusion for @hornets Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He is day-to-day.— Charlotte Hornets PR (@HornetsPR) November 3, 2014
Kidd-Gilchrist had left the game to get a CT scan, according to Hornets sideline reporter Stephanie Ready.
Kidd-Gilchrist surprisingly stayed in the game after the fall and even took the ball hard to the basket several times before being removed for good before halftime.
This isn't Kidd-Gilchrist's first scary fall. He suffered a concussion during his rookie season after charging into teammate Jeff Taylor in a similar play.
We will update on his status as we learn more.
