There are a lot of ways to show how tough and durable NHL players are, but San Jose Sharks captain Joe Pavelski gave us a new example Saturday night. The talented forward was trying to get position near the net against the Arizona Coyotes when a teammate's shot deflected off his helmet, the kind of thing that would probably startle most people.
However, Pavelski isn't like us normal folks, he's a professional hockey player. So it probably shouldn't be too surprising that, upon returning to the bench, he simply asked for a new helmet and chuckled while explaining why that was the case.
We could also probably use this for the "Why hockey is better with helmets" highlight video, as well.
