Chris Algieri is in a huge hole coming into round eight against Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao is able to land the bigger shots every round, and Algieri has no real power that can keep Pacquiao from feeling able to charge in and land big shots.
The eighth is playing out much the same way, with Algieri is landing the occasional jab or right hand but Pacquiao has landed 122 punches to Algieri's 66 according to the live punch stats.
That's simply not enough offense to beat a powerful, fast, dynamic offensive fighter like Pacquiao. And I don't believe that Algieri has the tools in his toolbox to reverse the way the fight is playing out.
