Michigan fired coach Brady Hoke Tuesday after a second straight subpar season. This year, the Wolverines finished 5-7, despite having lots of blue-chip talent. So now Michigan will embark on its third coaching search in less than a decade.
Ironically, Hoke was fired on the same day that former coach Rich Rodriguez won the Pac-12 Coach of the Year award.
While Rodriguez was never very successful at Michigan, he also never really had the support of the fan base, in part because he was not a "Michigan Man." This year, he started a freshman at quarterback and won the Pac-12 South, beating both Oregon and Arizona State in the process.
Man, he seems like a good coach. Maybe Michigan should take a run at him.
