Fans struck by lightning following Packers-Buccaneers game

The strike reportedly occurred in the parking lot of Raymond James Stadium following Sunday's game.

Multiple fans were struck by lightning outside Raymond James Stadium following Sunday's game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packersaccording to reports. The exact number of people affected is unclear. According to ABC News Meteorologist Denis Phillips, the strike occurred at 4:11 p.m. ET.

The strike reportedly occurred in the stadium parking lot. Emergency personnel were on the scene. Tampa Fire Rescue were dispatched at 4:20 p.m. ET, according to Tampa's NBC affiliate, soon after the final whistle blew inside the stadium.

The fans were reportedly transported to local St. Joseph's Hospital.

The lightning appears to have been the result of a storm moving across the Gulf of Mexico. The bad weather rolled in after the game. There were no weather issues during the game, which the Green Bay Packers won 20-3. The Buccaneers have one more home game this season, a season-ending bout against the New Orleans Saints next week.
