Fantasy football rankings, Week 14: Wide receivers for standard, PPR leagues

Two young receivers had massive games last Sunday and that probably affected many fantasy matchups. Check out our rankings to find out who we think is going to have a big game this week.

Fantasy football is really crazy at times. For example, DeAndre Hopkins hadn't posted more than a 17-point game all season and he breaks out with a 35-point effort this week. With the Houston Texans going back to Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, this was really hard to predict. His matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars this week is obviously favorable and should help many fantasy owners in their playoffs.

Another star receiver from Week 13 was Donte Moncrief. Moncrief is the definition of boom-or-bust and he went off against Washington. He has moved up to No. 2 on the depth chart behind T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne, which isn't a bad place to be. The Indianapolis Colts face a Cleveland Browns defense this week that has been tough against the pass. He could be a sneaky play, since the Browns won't be able to cover everybody.

Justin Hunter suffered a lacerated spleen on Sunday. He won't need surgery, but the Tennessee Titans placed him on injured reserve, ending his season. Miles Austin spent Sunday night in a Buffalo hospital after a kidney injury. He was having his best game of the year against the Bills when the injury happened. DeSean Jackson was forced from Sunday's game against the Colts and was seen limping around the locker room after the game. His bone bruise could be a minor issue or something that's day to day. Watch his practice participation to see how he's doing.

Two players we've been waiting on are Larry Fitzgerald and Roddy White. As we've said before, Fitzgerald's MCL sprain just needs time to rest and recover. The Arizona Cardinals are not in any hurry to rush him back, so we might have to wait another week until we see him back on the field. The practice reports will tell us a lot about his status. There hasn't been much said about White, so we'll just have to be patient and see if he's ready for Monday night. Make sure to have a backup plan ready for the weekend, just like you did this past week.

I'm not completely sold on Stedman Bailey but at this point in the season you have to grab who's available. He posted double-digit points the last two weeks and seems to have the eye of Shaun Hill. The St. Louis Rams face Washington which is a dream matchup for the St. Louis passing game. I'd proceed with caution, but if you're in need you should snatch him. Another young receiver that is getting playing time to end the season is Marqise Lee. He posted his first double-digit point game and scored his first touchdown in Week 13. The Jaguars passing game is not the safest to rely upon and Lee is fighting for targets with Cecil Shorts and Allen Hurns.
