Preliminary card (UFC Fight Pass)
Heavyweight - Oleksiy Oliynyk vs. Anthony Hamilton
Oleksiy Oliynyk vs. Anthony Hamilton - Round 1 - Hamilton clinching and trying to find some room to work but Oliynyk lands to the body and now lands a power shot and has Hamilton rattled a little. Oliynyk with a low blow so there's a pause in the action, but he lands a heavy right hand again once the action resumes. Now Oliynyk scores a takedown and he's into side mount and working a neck crank. Hamilton taps and that'll do it. Oleksiy Oliynyk wins by submission (neck crank), round 1.
Ray Borg vs. Shane Howell - Round 1 - Borg is bouncing around the outside before getting the fight to the ground. Howell tries to escape to his feet and Borg has a front headlock. Borg now spins around and takes the back. Borg continues locking in the choke as Howell keeps trying to defend and now it's finally sunk in deep enough that the Howell is done. Ray Borg wins by submission (rear naked choke), round 1.
Marcelo Guimaraes vs. Andy Enz - Round 1 - Jab by Enz and then a flurry and another right hand. Guimaraes with a few legkicks and now he locks up and lands a big slam before Enz stands right back up. Enz with a right hand. Guimaraes isn't having much success on the feet other than occasional kicks. Enz working a few leg kicks also, but really working some combination punches. 10-9 Enz.
Round 2 - Guimaraes with some more leg kicks but Enz circling outside and looking to open up with punches again. Right hand by Enz. Another right hand lands. Guimaraes manages to land a right hand in the clinch now. Cuffing overhand right by Guimaraes lands and another. Guimaraes is really winning the round on the strength of diverse striking that he didn't show in the first round. Guimaraes with some more good leg kicks. Enz finally lands a hard right hand but the round is wearing down and that likely won't win it for him. 10-9 Guimaraes on my card makes it even 19-19 heading into the third.
Round 3 - Enz with a head kick and a body kick that both just miss to open the round. Enz catches a leg kick and then throws a combination that doesn't land too hard, but has Guimaraes on the run. Enz with a nice combination and Guimaraes takes him down but Enz right back up. Hard leg kick by Guimaraes. Guimaraes is landing enough leg kicks that it's making Enz hesitate to engage. Another big leg kick and Enz is probably on his way to losing a decision as he's just not doing enough. Guimaraes with a takedown and Enz manages to scramble back to his feet. Guimaraes takes the third round on my card 10-9 to earn the 29-28 decision.
Official scorecards: 30-27 Enz, 29-28 Guimaraes, 29-28 Guimaraes. Marcelo Guimaraes wins by split decision.
Johnny Bedford vs. Cody Gibson - Round 1 - Bedford comes out hard, landing to the body and now some heavy shots to the head. Gibson lands a big shot and Bedford falls backward awkwardly and Gibson throws another punch and the ref starts to jump in to stop the fight, then doesn't, but then realizes that he already started so he does stop the fight. Bedford is complaining and it does look like an early stoppage, but not an easy spot for a ref. Cody Gibson wins by TKO (ref stoppage - punches), round 1.
Colton Smith vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira - Round 1 - Smith pushes forward and grabs a body lock against the cage but Ferreira with a beautiful throw and he locks up a choke and this is over. Wow, what a showing. Carlos Diego Ferreira wins by submission (modified rear naked choke), round 1.
Joe Ellenberger vs. James Moontasri - Round 1 - Ellenberger really pushing for a takedown, Moontasri defends, Ellenberger tries again and again it's defended. Flying knee attempt from Moontasri and Ellenberger grabs a front headlock. Moontasri manages to get back to his feet. Huge uppercut by Moontasri drops Ellenberger and he's on top landing some big shots. They're stuood up and Ellenberger is still wobbling on his feet. Big punch by Moontasri and Ellenberger eats it and tries for the takedown. 10-8 Moontasri.
Round 2 - Doctor checks Ellenberger's eye and allows it to continue. Ellenberger immediately trying for the takedown and he is on top and has Moontasri's back in a bit of an awkward position before finally getting his hooks in but has his back against the cage. Now he ends up transitioning to mount. Moontasri managed to get out of trouble but Ellenberger's round makes it one round a piece, if judges gave Moontasri a 10-8 round in the first is a huge deal right now.
Round 3 - Moontasri lands a right hand but Ellenberger looking for the takedown. They separate and now Ellenberger manages to get the takedown even though he looks completely spent. They eventually end up back on the feet, neither man has made a strong case for having won the round with about two minutes left. Big left by Ellenberger. Moontasri on top now in Ellenberger's guard. I guess 10-9 Ellenberger makes it a draw for me at 28-28 thanks to a 10-8 first round.
Official scorecards: 29-28 Moontasri, 29-28 Ellenberger, 29-28 Ellenberger. Joe Ellenberger wins by split decision.
Clint Hester vs. Antonio Braga Neto - Round 1 - Hester with a good body kick. Neto with a right hand and now he's looking for the takedown. Neto working to pass and threaten while Hester is trying to hold on and use the cage to scoot back to his feet. Hester still stuck on the ground and has tried to use kimura threats to get some space but is mostly just covering up as Neto is landing small punches and elbows. Hester does manage to get to the end of the round. 10-9 Neto.
Round 2 - Hester with a good right hand and now he goes to the body. Hester looks to be the fresher of the two men. Hard body kick by Hester. And a good body punch. Hester misses with an overhand right. Leg kick from Hester and a few good punches. Hester is doing good work but decides to go for a takedown and gets swept immediately. I have no clue why he would try that. 10-9 Hester despite the horrific mistake.
Round 3 - Hester comes out and unloads and Neto tries for the takedown and Hester backs away. Hester fell down on his own wild flurry an ended up mounted. Neto is on top but Hester rolls him and is on top not doing a whole lot. Finally they're back up and Hester tries to throw a little but gets taken down. I guess 10-9 Hester but a tough fight to score.
Official scorecards: 29-28 Neto, 29-28 Hester, 29-28 Hester. Clint Hester wins by split decision.
Ricardo Lamas vs. Hacran Dias - Round 1 - Dias with a really big leg kick that had Lamas pausing and thinking for a second on how he wanted to get back to the action. Takedown attempt defended by Dias. Body punch lands for Dias and another leg kick. Lamas with a leg kick now. Jab lands for Dias. Right hand for Dias. Lamas pushing him into the cage and landing a punch and then looking for the takedown. Lamas can't get the takedown and they're restated in the center of the Octagon and Dias lands a few big overhands. Good combo by Dias. Head kick from Lamas. 10-9 Dias on my card.
Round 2 - Lamas eats a hard leg kick from Dias and he pushes Dias into the cage to try and get the fight to the ground. Dias manages to stay upright and he lands a punch on the way out. Lamas is still pressuring okay, but Dias is doing a very good job of throwing Lamas off. Lamas probably controlled enough to win that round, but Dias looks good. 10-9 Lamas.
Round 3 - Lamas looks for a takedown right away again and pushes Dias into the cage. Dias tries to trip him but ends up on his own butt for a second. Lamas manages to take the back as Dias stands up. Lamas is looking for a rear naked choke but has it across the chin instead of the neck and Dias shrugs him off to the ground. Now Dias on top but Lamas stands up before Dias takes him back down. Lamas looking for a guillotine but Dias pops out without any threat. They go back to the feet and Lamas with a nice right hand and body kick combo before looking for the takedown. He's trying to win this round by just grinding it out. Very close round, I have it 10-9 Lamas to give him the win, but could go either way.
Official scorecards: 30-27, 30-27, 29-28. Ricardo Lamas wins by unanimous decision.
Cezar Ferreira vs. Andrew Craig - Round 1 - Big left hand from Ferreira and Craig is down. Ferreira with a front headlock. Back to the feet and Ferreira with a body kick. And another. Ferreira landing some good shots now and Craig is starting to fade a bit. 10-9 Ferreira.
Round 2 - Switch kick by Ferreira. Craig throwing some jabs that are way short, not much else happening. Ferreira pushes Craig into the cage and is looking for the takedown but Craig does a good job of keeping upright. Ferreira with a spinning kick that just misses. Still, a 10-9 Ferreira round.

Craig manages to get back to his feet and land a huge head kick that has Ferreira hurt. He tries to follow up with some big shots and has Ferreira hurt but ca't get the finish. That was the most exciting moment of the fight.

Kelvin Gastelum vs. Nicholas Musoke - Round 1 - Musoke pushing Gastelum into the cage. Musoke has him down and Gastelum stands right back up. Musoke with a big takedown. Musoke is now on the back with both hooks in. Now Gastelum manages to spin out and end up on top with about ten seconds left. 10-9 Musoke.
Round 2 - Gastelum firing some heavy shots now and he has Musoke backed up into the cage. Gastelum really pouring it on but Musoke stays calm and survives and now they're both to the center of the octagon. Good body kick by Gastelum. Hard straight left from Gastelum, and another. Little left hand gets in for Musoke. Gastelum really pouring it on and he has Musoke backed into the cage again. Hard flurry and Musoke is just covering up as Gastelum works to the body and head. Gastelum is just destroying him this round, absolutely brutalizing him to the body and then going upstairs as it opens up. 10-9 Gastelum.
Round 3 - Gastelum is busting him up still and Musoke is bleeding badly. Musoke is circling and still getting hit with jabs and body kicks. Gastelum also cut over his right eye. Head kicks by Gastelum are blot blocked. Musoke throws one in return. 10-9 Gastelum should win him the fight.
Official scorecards: 29-28 across the board. Kelvin Gastelum wins by unanimous decision.

Swanson with a leg kick after he gets cuffed by a big right hand. Right by Swanson and then a right by Stephens and Swanson is on his back, looked to be more of a slip than anything. Stephens on top but does nothing with it before the round ends. 10-9 Swanson.
