Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson was arrested under suspicious of driving while intoxicated early Friday morning, according to Darren McKee of Denver's 104.3 The Fan.
Lawson was driving 61 mph in a 35-mph zone, then admitted that he had been drinking and refused to take a sobriety test, per McKee. Lawson also did not have a valid ID on him at the time of his arrest.
The Nuggets had a team function that lasted until 10 p.m. on Thursday evening and Lawson was arrested at 1:20 a.m. on Friday.
This is the second time Lawson has been arrested for a DUI. The first was in college at North Carolina, where he was also underage at the time.
The Nuggets play Boston at home on Friday. Lawson is averaging 16.7 points, 9.9 assists and 3.3 rebounds this season for Denver but shooting a career-low 33.3 percent on 3-pointers.
