In the scoreless first quarter of Super Bowl 49, the Patriots came oh so close to finding the end zone.
Jeremy Lane made the big play for the Seahawks. Unfortunately, he had to be taken off the field immediately afterward. Lane's arm was put in an air cast. He was initially ruled as doubtful to return with a left wrist injury, but later the team announced that Lane would not return.
The Seahawks were already thin in the secondary with Marcus Burley ruled inactive. The team is also dealing with an elbow injury to cornerback Richard Sherman and a knee injury to safety Kam Chancellor.
The Patriots' running game and quick passing game looked good on their long drive prior to Lane's interception. The Seahawks may need as many healthy bodies as they can muster to slow down Tom Brady and company.
Although Lane is done for the game, at least he got to make a huge play before leaving.
