Former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson has added Florida to his growing list of potential transfer destinations, according to multiple sources. The former Irish quarterback met with Florida staff members on Monday evening and, as first reported on Tuesday by Sports Illustrated's Andy Staples, on Tuesday as well.
Under new head coach Jim McElwain, the Gators return sophomore quarterback Treon Harris, and redshirt freshman Will Grier is considered to be in running for the starting job.
Florida State has shown interest in the one-time BCS Championship Game QB, as he also visited Tallahassee on Monday. That day, 247Sports reported that Florida State is Golson's frontrunner. Sources told Bud Elliott of Tomahawk Nation that FSU was unlikely to guarantee Golson would start.

To transfer to an SEC school, Golson would need a waiver, as the conference has a rule against accepting graduate transfers who faced discipline at previous stops. Golson missed 2013 due to academics.
