Floyd Mayweather stayed undefeated with a clear unanimous decision over Manny Pacquiao tonight in Las Vegas, winning on unanimous decision scores of 118-110, 116-112, and 116-112. SB Nation had it 117-111 for Mayweather. Unofficial scores from the TV team had Showtime's Steve Farhood giving it to Mayweather, 118-110, and HBO's Harold Lederman scoring it 117-111 for Mayweather.
Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO) was simply the better fighter, controlling the majority of the fight with his jab, with his movement and his defense. Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KO) had a terrible time landing anything clean on Mayweather, scoring with just 81 punches according to CompuBox. Mayweather landed 148 punches, by comparison.
"He's a hell of a fighter, and I take my hat off to Manny Pacquiao," Mayweather said. "Now I see why he's one of the guys at the pinnacle of the sport of boxing."
When asked if the fight was easier than he expected, Mayweather simply called Pacquiao a tough competitor, and said he knew Manny would "win some rounds."
We'll have more on the fight coming shortly here at SB Nation.
