Jonathan Papelbon would not approve a trade from the Phillies unless he was guaranteed to close for his new team. The Nationals traded for him, and it made for some awkwardness between the organization and the incumbent closer, Drew Storen.
That awkwardness didn't extend to the two players involved, though. No, sir.
