Sheldon Richardson gives most poorly timed quote ever an hour before news of his arrest

The Jets may wish they hadn't made Sheldon Richardson available after practice.

Sheldon Richardson was arrested earlier this month after allegedly committing a barrage of illegal activities, including street racing at speeds of up to 143 miles per hour with guns underneath his floor mats and a 12-year-old boy in the back seat. News of the arrest only just now broke, more than two weeks after the incident, leading to what may be the most poorly timed media appearance ever.

An hour before reports of his arrest surfaced, Richardson answered a question about his four-game suspension and promised he would not give the Jets any more trouble. Via the News York Daily News:

"I failed every drug test and this drug test, so there wasn't no reason to appeal it," he said. "I take full accountability for my actions. Like I said before, I apologize to my teammates, to this organization, I told them you don't have to worry about my name being in the news again."

Welp.
