Floyd Mayweather returns to the boxing ring tonight for what is being hyped as the last time, as the pound-for-pound king claims he'll hang up the gloves after his bout with Andre Berto, which he is the extremely heavy favorite to win. Whether or not you believe that Mayweather, 38, will really retire, the bottom line is he's fighting again tonight, and even in a mismatch, that's something of an event.
Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO) will be in the ring no earlier than 11 pm EST tonight, with the full pay-per-view card beginning at 8 pm EST from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the last fight on Mayweather's record, six-fight deal he signed in 2013 with CBS Sports and Showtime.
Berto (30-3, 23 KO) is a 32-year-old former two-time welterweight titleholder who is 3-3 in his last six fights, and is being given little chance of the upset. On the undercard, there will be two world title fights: Badou Jack vs George Groves for the WBC super middleweight title, and Rocky Martinez vs Orlando Salido in a rematch for the WBO super featherweight title. The pay-per-view's opening bout will pit Jhonny Gonzalez and Jonathan Oquendo in a super featherweight bout, as well.
Fight Time: 8:00 pm EST for the full pay-per-view card. Mayweather-Berto main event no earlier than 11 pm EST.
