Notre Dame defensive back Drue Tranquill was injured celebrating a pass break-up in the Irish's game against Georgia Tech on Saturday, and will miss the remainder of the season.
Tranquill prevented a touchdown on third-and-long at the end of the second quarter, in the corner of his own end zone. After he jumped in the air to celebrate with a teammate, Tranquill came to the ground clutching his right knee. He limped into the tunnel toward Notre Dame's locker room with team medical staff, and was later on the sideline with crutches.
Here's Tranquill celebrating right before the injury. He'd just helped to keep the Yellow Jackets off the board.

Tranquill, a 6'1 safety from Fort Wayne, Ind., is in his sophomore season for Brian Kelly's team. He made three starts and appeared in 11 games as a true freshman last season. On Notre Dame's two-deep depth chart for this week's game, Tranquill is listed as a backup at safety behind starter Elijah Shumate.
