The Cincinnati Bengals ruled out Tyler Eifert for their Week 6 matchup with the New England Patriots. This comes as no surprise after Eifert failed to get even one practice session in for the second straight week.
Eifert is recovering from offseason ankle surgery, as well as a back injury suffered sometime in Week 5. He now looks very questionable to miss Week 7 vs. the Cleveland Browns and Week 8 vs. Washington before getting a bye week in Week 9.
Do not expect Eifert to return before that bye.
Fantasy Spin: Eifert is now cut-worthy if you are in need of another tight end. With no clear return date, cutting him is a smart move in smaller fantasy leagues.
And as long as Eifert is out, C.J. Uzomah should be a decent fantasy option in PPR leagues. He has caught nine passes for 88 yards over the past two games while being targeted 10 times.
