Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 6: Tyler Lockett could have bigger role this week

The Seahawks’ wide receiver is currently playing with a knee injury, but it does not seem to worry his coaches. We explore the fantasy implications.

With just eight catches after his first four games in 2016, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett has yet to turn in an impressive performance this season. In just his second year in the NFL, perhaps the young wide receiver is experiencing a bit of a sophomore slump?

The fact that Lockett is currently playing this season with a torn PCL in his knee could also be contributing to his struggles so far. But the Seahawks are coming off their bye week and the team’s coaches expect him to have a significant role this Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: For their Week 6 matchup, Lockett and Seattle get to face a lackluster Atlanta Falcons pass defense.

Through five weeks, the Falcons’ defense is giving up the 10th most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. No receiver has gained over 100 receiving yards against Atlanta this season, but their defense has allowed the position group to catch at least one touchdown in each of their five games.

Yahoo! sees Lockett finishing the weekend with just three catches for 40 yards. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues may want to consider starting the wide receiver this week given his matchup, but keeping him on the bench for another week may be the better decision.
